Essar has always been leading from the front when it comes to society and community uplift. The Essar Foundation has always come forward to help marginalised sections of society, especially children, across education, sports, shelter and day-to-day living.
Essar Ports, in association with Essar Foundation, recently donated essentials to the 26 children of Sai Seva Trust, which provides shelter to the destitute, orphan and under privileged in the society. The trust is run by Mrs & Mr Ravi Sapkal, who run their own coaching institute and provide tuitions to the students.
The Foundation team visited the couple and interacted with them in order to support their efforts. The main concern of the couple was food and ration for the children. Essar Foundation, with the generous support from Essar Ports, contributed the support material during Diwali, making the festival of a special one for the extended Sai Seva family. As per their requirement, they were provided with food grains, ration, sweets, and hygiene products to girls.
Ravi Sapkal and his wife embarked on a mission to create a home for orphans, and kids whose parents cannot afford their well-being & education, often because they are single parent. The children are inculcated with value of “giving back to society” and are vowed to take responsibility of at least two underprivileged children for their education and wellbeing in future, so as to make sure that the goodness chain continues through each generation.
The Sapkals are a compassionate caring couple and whatever they earn is used in providing for the children who live with them in their humble dwelling. Besides the children being provided with shelter, food, and education, the couple also bear the expense of marriage and help them settle down in life.
