Vaccination is critical for India’s fight against COVID-19 pandemic, especially that of our Covid warriors. As part of its sustained efforts against the pandemic, Essar Foundation recently conducted a vaccination drive for the families of Police personnel of Worli Police Station, Mumbai, at Sasmira Center Worli. A total of 426 personnel were vaccinated. This is in addition to the 2000+ vaccines Essar has already helped administer to employees, contractual staff and associates, through various organized at their corporate and site offices across India.
Mr Aditya Thackeray, Hon. Minister, Government of Maharashtra (GoM), graced the occasion accompanied with senior dignitaries of the government, administration and police. Mr Niket Kaushik, Jt CP – EOW, Dr Dyneshwar Chawan, Addl CP – Central Region, Mr Paramjit Dahiya, DCP – Zone III, Mr Sudhir Sakharam Jambavdekar, ACP – Worli Division, and Mr Anil Koli, Sr. PI – Worli Police Station were all present at the event and extended their support for the initiative.
Special mention goes to Mr Girish Patki, Mr Deepak More (BMS) and Mr Milan Sawant (BMS) from team Essar, who played a key role in the success and smooth organization of event. The team showed exceptional managerial skills and ensured that the vaccination process was carried through flawlessly for all the members of the Mumbai police community.
Essar Foundation has been at the forefront of India’s fight against the pandemic since early 2020. Under its ‘Essar Cares’ initiatives, Essar Foundation launched multiple projects like the Meal, Health, Sahej and Rainbow Projects wherein 2 million meals, 1.55 lakh medical supplies and 6 lakh sanitary napkins were provided to those in need, especially during the lockdown. During the second wave, when the Nation’s medical infrastructure was stretched, Essar Foundation also set up 100-bed Covid Care Centre (with oxygen support) in Gujarat. The facility witnessed the recoveries of many Covid patients.
