On 27th February 2024, Avid Learning’s Founder and Chairperson Mrs Madhu Ruia shone at a panel discussion on ‘Cultivating Cultural Intelligence’ at Al Serkal Avenue, Dubai’s vibrant arts district which was part of Cultural Immersive program presented by Avid Learning, Cultural Brush, AlSerkel Avenue, Brausan E&A, International Interfaith Research Lab and Looking Glass. The session focussed on cultivating cultural intelligence is of paramount importance for today’s youth in the increasingly interconnected diverse world.
She was joined by Dr Amra Sabic-El-Rayes, professor and award-winning author of ‘The Cat I Never Named’, and Oscar-winning producers Woo-Sik Seo and Brian Park of ‘Parasite’ and ‘Okja,’ the event was skillfully moderated by journalist and presenter Sonal Rupani from Dubai Eye 103.8.
A passionate proponent of lifelong learning, Mrs Madhu Ruia emphasized the importance of cultural intelligence in navigating diverse environments, highlighting empathy, effective communication, and adaptability as key elements. She reflected on her journey of founding Avid Learning and the shared vision she holds with Asad Lalljee, CEO of Avid Learning, as passionate proponents of nurturing cultural intelligence and lifelong learning.
Drawing on Dubai’s unique position at the intersection of Africa, Asia, and Europe, she shared her views of the substantial Indian community in the UAE as a prime example of a thriving multicultural society. This is also a strong marker of the robust and flourishing diplomatic ties between India and the UAE.
