“Education has an important role to play in making India self-reliant’’- Narendra Modi
With a vision to make India self-reliant and that no child is left without education, we reached out to students of Nane Madhyamik Vidyalaya located in a remote village of Nane, Pune District. Nane Madhyamik Vidyalaya is a non-aided school with 148 students. The school has basic infrastructure like laboratory, library, computers and playground. This has been made possible because of the support of good samaritans as the school is completely dependent on donations for their day-to-day activities.
Essar Foundation in association with Essar Ports provided students with school bags, books, chairs and fans as required by the school. With the beginning of the new academic year it was a welcome gift to the students as they were struggling to obtain the books and bags. They appreciated the support extended at the right time and thanked Essar Ports and Essar Foundation for this gesture. Even though with limited resources the teachers and students have performed exceptionally well in the board exams with 100 percent results from the last three years and few students have proved their mettle by winning at various competitions at district level.
In appreciation, the school organised a small function for the Essar Foundation team. On behalf of Essar Ports, the Essar Foundation team members visited the school and interacted with the students and motivated the children on the importance of education and working towards achieving their best in life for the betterment of their families and society at large.
