Essar Foundation and AGC Networks have once again joined hands for yet another noble objective after supporting the academic needs of differently abled children a few days ago.
This time, the two have come together to support a Mother and Child Malnutrition project implemented by Shri Ramakrishna Arogya Sansthan, in a tribal belt in Trimbakeshwar, Maharashtra. The Sansthan is an NGO which believes in the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, who advocated worship of divinity in humans with an emphasis on holistic health development of the underprivileged.
The malnutrition programme will run for six months and will cater to around 400 pregnant women & children in Palghar, Jawhar, Mokhoda & Trimbakeshwar region.
The programme took place on Thursday, 25th March 2021 with the volunteers of Shri Ramakrishna Arogya Sansthan, wherein tribal women and children underwent a medical check-up and were provided with necessary vitamins and other medications. The rationale to partner with Shri Ramkrishna Arogya Sansthan was to provide nutrition, healthcare and proper clothing to tribal mothers and children who were found either malnourished or underweight. Hundreds of mothers and children in and around Trimbakeshwar and its nearby areas such as Harsul, Peth, Surgana in the Palghar district are covered under the project. Early marriages and pregnancies, poor access to healthcare has led to severe anemia in the women of the region.
At the event, Swami Shrikanthanand, Trustee and President, Shri Ramakrishna Arogya Sansthan said “We are grateful to AGC Networks for coming forward through Essar Foundation to support the “Mother & Child Malnutrition Project” which will benefit both Mother and Child in the tribal belt of Trimbakeshwar and adjacent villages. We want to say a big thank you to AGC Networks and Essar Foundation for the support extended that will enable us to provide better nourishment to both, Mother and Child”.
