“One of the most important things you can do on this earth is to let people know they are not alone.”
― Shannon L. Alder
In our quest to help the underprivileged, Essar Power in association with Essar Foundation provided Urja Trust with essential items, in the form of groceries, food grains, umbrellas, footwear, blanket, bedsheets, towels, sanitary pads and toiletries.
Urja Trust has dedicated themselves towards supporting the homeless and destitute young women, and victims of domestic violence, who have been stigmatised and shunned, with no identity, resources, or access to their rights by their families or society. Their mission is to act as a catalyst for homeless young women to facilitate them to access their fundamental rights and create a platform for holistic development.
It is their belief that transformation cannot be limited to individuals but needs to pervade into the system as well, to realise their vision of a just, equitable and compassionate society where young women pursue their lives with freedom and dignity. They conduct livelihood skills and empower the women towards a better, safe, dignified and prospective future.
Dominic Dsouza, COO-CSR, along with Essar Foundation colleagues interacted with the residents of the shelter home and motivated them to look at life positively, so as to overcome the past traumas and focus on building a better future for themselves with the support of Urja Trust.
