EOGEPL recently conducted its annual Level-03 emergency response drill on March 28, 2025, at the GGS 01-CGS main CBM export trunk line near Khatgoria village. The drill, led by the HSE department, tested the company’s readiness to manage critical situations and reinforced its commitment to safety.
The scenario simulated a gas leakage caused by accidental excavation work near the pipeline, leading to a fire and an injured individual. Swift action was demonstrated as trained villagers immediately reported the incident to the nearest control room. The operations team quickly confirmed the leak through SCADA, prompting the Incident Controller and Chief Incident Controller to declare a Level-03 emergency.
In a coordinated response, external support from Mutual Aid Partners, including Matix Fertilizers and GAIL, was mobilized. The City Fire Brigade and officers from Molandighi and Laudoha Police Stations arrived on-site with fire engines to manage the blaze. Ambulances from Mission Hospital ensured prompt medical assistance.
The successful containment of the simulated fire and rescue of the injured highlighted the effectiveness of EOGEPL’s safety protocols. The exercise was closely supervised by Chief Incident Controller and Mines Manager Mr. Vikram Goday, along with observer Mr. Nilesh Kamat. Mr. O.T. Sharma, DGM from GAIL, also witnessed the drill and provided valuable insights.
Beyond the drill, EOGEPL took the opportunity to raise awareness about sustainability. Guests were presented with jute bags, reinforcing the company’s commitment to the “Ban Single-Use Plastic” initiative.
For EOGEPL, the safety of employees and local communities remains a top priority. Through initiatives like these, the company continues to strengthen its emergency preparedness and contribute to safer, more resilient communities.
